Hi my name is Alan Gray! I am an amateur photographer living in Newton Stewart a market town on the banks of the river Cree in Wigtownshire South West Scotland (Also Known as the Gateway to the Galloway Hills)
I moved in to my Cottage in January 2016 and still getting to know the best places to visit to improve on my photography venture. Newton Stewart is within easy distance of some outstanding forests, hills, and coastal scenery within Dumfries and Galloway.
In 2009 the Galloway forest park was designated as the first area in the UK to get granted "Dark sky park" status by the international Dark Sky Association. The park itself covers 299 Square miles and the Dumfries and Galloway coastline stretches for over 200 miles so there is plenty to explore.
I enjoy all aspects of photography out in the open air doing Landscape, Wildlife, and Birds.
I first started Photography in August 2020 with my Nikon D3300 and lenses that ranged Between 18 to 300 mm but soon progressed up to my Nikon D500 with Lenses that range between 18 to 600 mm plus i now have a Sigma 105mm 1:2.8 DG macro HSM Lens.
If you have any questions or want further information ,please use the contact form! i will answer as soon as possible.
